24 May 2021 Intuit QuickBooks Scam
You should be aware of a recent Intuit subscription scam involving QuickBooks Desktop and QuickBooks Online subscribers. Here’s how the scam works. QuickBooks users will receive phone calls from someone pretending to be an Intuit agent. The fake Intuit agent says your QuickBooks subscription will expire within a few days and the renewal payment has not been made. They offer to take payment over the phone or through wire transfer. The scammers are well trained to get the money. It can be very convincing.
Recently, our clients who subscribe to QuickBooks Online have received the same phishing calls and text messages. Please be aware of this scam. Intuit will NEVER call you and request a renewal payment for QuickBooks Desktop or QuickBooks Online. Do not give your credit card number or ACH information to a fake Intuit agent. Stay on guard.
