Haynie Gives: Hunter Elementary’s Winter Food Drive

Haynie Gives: Hunter Elementary’s Winter Food Drive

As winter break approaches, many families in our community face a significant challenge: ensuring their children have access to nutritious meals while schools are closed. The break can mean a heightened risk of food insecurity for the 60% of Hunter Elementary students who rely on free or reduced-price lunches. To help bridge this gap, the SLC Haynie & Company team eagerly participated in Hunter Elementary’s Winter food drive.

Coming Together to Make a Difference

The Salt Lake City office rallied to donate much-needed food items such as Cereal, Granola Bars, Fruit Snacks, and Crackers. These donations were thoughtfully chosen to provide the students with convenient, nutritious, and kid-friendly options during winter break.

Why We Chose to Support Hunter Elementary

We decided to support this food drive because we believe no child should go hungry, especially during a season for joy and togetherness. Ensuring children have access to food during school breaks is vital for their health, well-being, and development. While this was our first time supporting this cause, it was a powerful reminder of the importance of community.

Aligning with Our Core Values

This event resonated strongly with Haynie & Company’s core values of Family—we recognize the importance of supporting families in our community—and Service—giving back to the community is at the heart of what we do. Jennifer Gale, who participated in the event, said, “Supporting families in need reflects our commitment to service and reminds us that small acts of kindness can make a big difference.”

Our Commitment to Giving Back

At Haynie & Company, we’re proud to play an active role in supporting our community. Participating in initiatives like the Hunter Elementary food drive reminds us of the importance of service and the difference we can make together.
