Brian Jacobson – Partner, CPA
Brian graduated from North Dakota State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in accounting in 2003. He joined Haynie & Company in 2014 and has a strong background in tax planning, consulting and compliance for corporate, partnership and individual clients. He works with clients in a variety of industries including real estate, manufacturing, professional services, healthcare, agriculture and not-for-profit organizations. Brian’s experience includes consulting on a wide range of tax issues including mergers & acquisitions, start-up companies, succession planning, stock options, real estate professionals, multi-state, international tax, trusts and estates. Prior to joining Haynie & Company, Brian was a tax manager with a regional CPA firm with offices in Minneapolis and St. Paul, Minnesota. Brian is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) and the Colorado Society of Certified Public Accountants (COCPA).
Brian and his wife Nan have two sons. He values family time and enjoys hiking, participating in sports activities and coaching his sons youth sports teams
Chuck Bryson – Partner, CPA
Chuck has extensive experience in working with business owners in a wide variety of industries such as construction, manufacturing, professional practices, retirement plans, and non-profits. Chuck frequently speaks on the tax and business topics to other CPA’s and business owners. Chuck’s strong point is his objectivity and his ability to understand both sides of opposing views which then allows him to mediate disputes among business owners and family members. Chuck also consults with business owners in all phases of the life cycle of a business.
After managing his own practice for 12 years, Chuck merged his practice into Haynie & Company in November of 2013. Prior to operating his practice, Chuck worked for three different local CPA firms in the Denver metropolitan area gaining valuable experience over a period of 17 years.
Chuck is a graduate of Colorado State University where he received his undergraduate degree in Business Administration with an emphasis in accounting. Later, he obtained a Master’s degree in taxation from the University of Denver. He is a licensed CPA in Colorado.
Chuck has been active in numerous organizations over the years including Denver Public Library Friends Foundation, Greater Park Hill SERTOMA, various professional accounting organizations and the Black American West History Museum.
Daniel Baird – Partner, CPA
Daniel Baird is a partner of Haynie & Company in the Salt Lake City, Utah office. He contributes a broad range of accounting and tax services to individual clients, and both privately held and publicly held business clients. He has served clients in retail, wholesale, manufacturing, construction, and real estate. Daniel has extensive experience in all areas of taxation, especially with partnership, corporation, and multi-state issues.
Daniel attended Weber State University. He received a bachelor’s degree in 1992 and a master’s degree in professional accountancy in 1993. While at Weber State University, he was a sprinter on the track team and broke several school records, as well as several stadium records at other universities. Daniel passed the CPA exam in 1994. He joined Haynie & Company promptly after graduating in 1993.
He is a member of the Utah Association of Certified Public Accountants and the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.
Daniel and his wife Kristina have seven children. Staying active in the community is important to Daniel, as being a good neighbor and father is a high priority for a balanced life. He stays involved with his children’s school programs and is active in his church.
Daniel enjoys playing the piano and the trumpet, and helps with the kid’s band practice. He also enjoys participating in sports activities and traveling with his wife and children.
Dave Peterson – Partner, CPA
As a small business specialist, David R. Peterson fills the unique needs of smaller companies with services ranging from tax planning to the creation of accounting systems. The management advisory services he provides are especially useful for fast-growing, start-up, or troubled businesses.
Dave provides further consultation as an employer/employee relations specialist, utilizing the Predictive Index. With this proven personality evaluation tool, Dave assists clients in evaluating employees’ strengths, and further counsels clients on strategies for increasing effectiveness and overall motivation.
Dave began with Haynie & Company as a student intern in 1975 and excelled. After he graduated from the University of Utah in 1977, Haynie & Company offered Dave a full partnership in the firm. He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Accounting, with minors in math and computer science.
As a member of both American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) and Utah Association of Certified Public Accountants (UACPA), Dave is active in the professional accounting community. He has chaired UACPA’s Public Relations Committee, and served on their Political Action Committee. He is also part of the Private Companies Practice Session of the AICPA.
Internationally, Dave is a member of “Choice Humanitarian,” a charity that provides training, service, and goods to villages in Mexico, Bolivia, Vietnam, Nepal, and Kenya. Locally, Dave’s community service includes membership on the Downtown Planning Committee and the Planned Gifts Committee of Primary Children’s Hospital. He is currently serving on the Alzheimer’s Board. He is an active University of Utah Crimson Club member and a past president and past treasurer of the Ute Little League Football program. He enjoys art, electronic gadgetry, fast cars, and stamp collecting. Dave is married, and has five children and six grandchildren.

Kent M. Christensen – Partner, CPA, CVA
Kent M. Christensen received a bachelor’s degree from the University of Utah and a Master of Science in Accounting degree with an emphasis on taxation from Weber State University. Kent joined Haynie & Company in 1999 and manages the Salt Lake City tax department. He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) and the Utah Association of Certified Public Accountants (UACPA). He is well qualified in corporate income taxation, partnership taxation, individual taxation, and related planning and business organization.
Kent’s experience includes consultation on a wide array of issues including multi-state taxation, methods of accounting for inventories, inventory capitalization rules, fixed asset depreciation, alternative minimum tax, methods of accounting differences between book and tax, forms of doing business, and all other phases of consulting and compliance, including consolidated filing issues, mergers and acquisitions, international tax, IRS interface, and year-round tax planning. Kent consults with domestic companies, many with international operations, to comply with complex tax reporting requirements and help minimize federal and state income tax liabilities.
Nick Warnick – Partner, CPA
Nick Warnick provides audit and consulting services, and enjoys helping clients and companies from diverse industries get through the audit process smoothly. He grew up in Manassas, Virginia, and received a Bachelor of Science degree and subsequently a Master of Science in Accounting degree from Brigham Young University in April 2001. A Certified Public Accountant in the State of Colorado since 2002, Nick is also a member of the AICPA and the COCPA. Nick began as a staff auditor at Ernst & Young in Denver, Colorado, and over five years managed various clients in industries such as healthcare, real estate, technology, financial services, and manufacturing. His background includes experience with IPOs, mergers and acquisitions, consolidations, Sarbanes-Oxley, and SEC reporting. Nick also worked as a senior manager with the internal audit team for Western Union, a public company in the financial services industry. While at Western Union, he traveled to Ireland, Italy, Hong Kong, and China to assist in their international departments.
Since joining Haynie & Company CPAs in October 2007, Nick works with a wide variety of clients in the SEC, governmental, not-for-profit, for-profit, HUD, and employee benefit plan practice areas. He continues to work with industries such as real estate, cities, special districts, mining, broker/dealers, and manufacturing. He also participates in “Peer Review” services for other CPA firms.
Nick currently is involved in the community working with the Boy Scouts of America and recently completed a backpacking trip with scouts to the famed Chicago Basin area in southwest Colorado, where he summited three “fourteen’ers” (mountains over 14,000 feet). Nick and his wife Sara have four red-headed boys, which is Nick’s greatest achievement, he says. He enjoys spending family time with them mountain biking, camping, and just jumping on the trampoline.
Patsy Stewart – Partner, CPA
Attended Brigham Young University and graduated with a bachelor’s degree in accounting. After attending Brigham Young University began working at Haynie & Company and passed the CPA exam shortly thereafter.

Richard J. Fleischman – Partner, CPA
Richard is a graduate of Northeastern University. He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) and Colorado Society of Certified Public Accountants (CSCPA). Richard joined AJ Robbins, PC in 1994 and was part of the merger into Haynie & Company in 2013. Richard has managed engagements for public companies in excess of 6,000 hours. He has worked with technology companies, mobile application providers, retail and wholesale distributors, e-commerce, motion picture, manufacturing and service companies, restaurants, and gaming and entertainment companies. His experience includes audits in China, Macau, Hong Kong, Singapore and the UK, as well as extensive work throughout the US. Richard has extensive experience working with our affiliate firms on multi-national audits.
Robert Jensen – Partner, CPA
Robert Jensen is partner at Haynie & Company. He has over 35 years of experience in private accounting which includes a wide range of tax and accounting services for individuals and businesses. In addition, Robert has served as the managing partner of an accounting firm for 16 years before it merged into Haynie & Company January 2016.
Robert’s experience in professional services include retail and wholesale trade, manufacturing, professional services and international issues for private companies. He also has extensive experience in corporate and individual taxation as well as auditing private companies. Robert has provided comprehensive management advisory services, along with valuation and litigation support services.
Robert graduated from the University of Utah with two degrees, Accounting and Finance. He served 2 years as a Chief Financial Officer of large a large restaurant operation and 5 years as an Instructor of Business Development at a local community school. He has also served for several years on various committees with the UACPA and served on the Board of Directors for various operations, organizations and Universities in Utah. Robert is a proud grandparent, parent and loves University of Utah athletics.

Ty Holman – Partner, CPA
Ty is a graduate of Brigham Young University and Mesa State College. He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA), and the Colorado Society of Certified Public Accountants (CSCPA). Ty worked with Ernst & Young and Great West Life and Annuity in Denver, Colorado prior to joining Haynie & Company in 2008. He has experience in a variety of areas, including: SEC, governmental, not-for-profit, HUD and private clients in a number of industries. Ty’s clients come from a variety of industries including, real estate, financial services, technology, professional services, hospitality, mining, special districts, cities, and not-for-profit entities. James Feldhake, CPA – Partner
Jim will have the overall responsibility for coordinating the services to you and will directly oversee the audit and tax services provided. Jim has 43 years of public accounting experience. His industry experience includes real estate, not-for-profit organizations, resort operations, construction and service organizations. Jim’s responsibilities will require active field involvement in the planning and supervision for the engagement and in connection with major issues which may arise. Jim joined Fox & Company, a national accounting firm, upon graduation from Regis College in 1972. He was admitted to partnership in 1979. In 1983, he left to start his own practice. Jim has been responsible for audits ranging from single location small audits to large multi-location engagements. Jim has served on the Colorado Society of Certified Public Accountants (CSCPA) Peer Review Board as well as the American Society of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) peer review committee. Jim’s past assignments with the CSCPA include service on the Professional Ethics Board for three years. He served in various volunteer capacities with the United Way for five years. For three of those years, he served as Vice-Chairman for the Agency Relations committee which is responsible for allocation of funds to agencies. He is a past-president of the DTC Kiwanis Club and has been the treasurer for The Gathering Place, a local not-for-profit organization.
Aaron Abendroth, CPA – Tax Manager
Aaron Abendroth is a graduate of Brigham Young University with a master and bachelor degrees in accounting and information systems. Aaron is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA). Aaron joined Haynie & Company in 2011 and works in the Salt Lake City, Utah office. Before joining Haynie, Aaron was a Partner at Baird, Blackburn & Abendroth, PC, and Karren Hendrix Stagg & Associates, PC in Salt Lake City, Utah. Aaron has had extensive tax and accounting experience with small to large corporations, S-corporations, partnerships and sole proprietorships, in such industries as manufacturing, real estate, financial services as well as others. Aaron works closely with Valuation issues and has valued over 100 companies. Aaron has specific experience in dealing with the IRS and State Tax Commissions, valuation issues for gifting and estate tax returns, tax consequences for merger and acquisition and captive insurance company setup and audits.
Adam Wilkes, CPA – Audit Manager
Adam Wilkes is a graduate of Fort Lewis College with a degree in accounting. Adam joined Haynie & Company in 2014. Before joining Haynie, Adam was a Senior Auditor at McGladrey LLP, EKS&H LLLP and AJ Robbins, PC in Denver, Colorado. Adam has worked on various audits of different types of companies and organizations, including experience auditing governmental, not-for-profit and HUD organizations. Andrea Marino – Tax Manager
Andrea earned her Bachelor of Science in Accounting from the University of Colorado at Boulder and began her career at Doty, Lyle and Jones in Boulder, Colorado. In 2010, she joined Halliburton, Hogsett , Scott and Associates, P.C. HHSA merged with Haynie and Company in January, 2013. She is a member of the Colorado Society of Certified Public Accountants and has experience in a variety of areas, including assisting in financial audits for various industries and individual and corporate taxation.
Christine McLeod, CPA – Audit Manager
Christine graduated from the University of Mississippi Patterson School Of Accountancy with a Bachelor of Accountancy. She is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA), and the Colorado Society of Certified Public Accountants (CSCPA). Christine worked with Arthur Andersen and Co. in Dallas, Texas, as operations manager at Intellicall, Inc. in Carrollton, Texas, and as manager of St. Mary’s Federal Credit Union in Littleton, CO. Christine also managed her own private practice providing accounting services to a number of small clients in various industries. In 2013, she joined Haynie & Company. Christine has experience in a variety of areas, including SEC, governmental, not-for-profit, special districts, pension plans, hospitality, financial services, and small-business accounting.
Emily Peck, CPA – Audit Manager
Emily Peck is a graduate of Weber State University with a Master’s of Professional Accountancy degree. Emily is a member of the American Institute of Professional Accountancy (AICPA), Texas Society of Certified Public Accountants (TSCPA), and the Utah Association of Certified Public Accountants (UACPA). Emily currently maintains her CPA license in Texas and Utah. Emily joined Haynie & Company as a Senior Audit Manager in April 2016 and works in the Downtown-Salt Lake City, Utah office. Before joining Haynie, Emily was an Audit Manager at Deloitte & Touche LLP in Houston, Texas. Greg Doebler, CPA – Tax Manager
Greg Doebler is a graduate of Washington University in St. Louis, MO with bachelor degrees in Mathematics and Economics. Katie Watts, CPA – Audit Manager
Katie Watts is a Certified Public Accountant, devoted mother, and bulldog enthusiast. She joined the firm in 2009 and is currently an audit manager. Katie graduated in 2008 from the University of Utah with a Bachelor of Science in Accounting and in 2009 from the University of Utah with a Master of Accountancy audit emphasis. When she isn’t glued to her computer, Katie enjoys traveling, cooking, and spending time with her family and fur babies.
Lori Morris, CPA – Audit Manager
Lori has 30 years of experience, six years of which was with a large regional firm prior to joining Feldhake & Associates in 1990. Lori has experience with various types of audit engagements including subsidized multi-family housing developments, LIHTC projects, not-for-profit organizations, ski resorts and egg producers. Lori has 18 years experience with multi-family housing developments. A large portion of her time each year is devoted to performing and reviewing services to these organizations, both for-profit and not-for-profit. Lori is a member of the AICPA and CSCPA and previously served as co-chairman on the CSCPA’s CPE Compliance committee which is responsible for assisting members with and reviewing compliance of continuing professional education requirements.
Michael McLeskey, CPA – Tax Manager

Lauren Scott, CPA – Partner
Lauren has been working with individuals, businesses, non-profit entities, trusts and estates for nearly 40 years, providing comprehensive tax guidance, advice, compliance and dispute resolution, with a special emphasis in trusts and estates. She earned a B.S. Degree in Accounting from Indiana University and is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) and the Colorado Society of Certified Public Accountants (CSCPA). Lauren was a partner in the CPA firm of Halliburton, Hogsett, Scott and Associates when the firm merged with Haynie and Company in 2013. Lauren began her career in accounting in Indiana, prior to moving to Colorado. She is currently retired from Haynie & Co.
